Who We Are
Edufusion.org was founded in 2018 by two Full-Time Staff Faculty members in the College of Humanities in Sciences at University of Phoenix online, John Phillips and William Stewart. Soon after, they were joined by University of Phoenix Full-Time Staff Faculty member and colleague, Gary Grimm. Their interest was to provide relevant and practical content to their colleagues in the distance education profession to help them develop and improve their instructional approach. In short, they wanted to create a hub that brings together creative ideas in distance education and an open forum in which colleagues can collaborate with, and learn from, each other.
This collaborative hub is in its infancy and there are big plans for things to come including podcast articles, interviews, and collections of links to helpful resources to name a few. As it moves forward, Edufusion.org promises to be an increasingly valuable resource in and of itself so bookmark and check back often.
William Stewart
A co-founder of Edufusion.org, William Stewart has served as a faculty member in the College of Humanities and Sciences (COHS) at University of Phoenix online since 2006. He was a faculty member in both the College of Business and College of Humanities and Sciences at the Columbia, SC University of Phoenix ground campus from 2009 to 2013, at which point he began his current role as a Full-Time Staff Faculty Member in the College of Humanities and Sciences at University of Phoenix online.

dustry for over 10 years in roles including Advertising Director, Classifieds and Display Advertising Sales Manager, and Account Executive in print, broadcast television, and online organizations. He also founded and operated a small business for 8 years in the automotive industry managing online classified marketing and merchandising for franchise and independent automotive dealerships.

Gary Grimm
Gary earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with minors in English and Education during his time in Southern California. It was at that time that he developed a deep love for Dodgers baseball and Lakers basketball, who he still follows to this day. He completed his Master’s degree in History at Fort Hays State University.
Gary is an avid traveler and has visited most of the states in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica and several countries in Europe. He has now settled in sunny Florida.
He has served as an educator at various grade levels, from junior high to adult and in recent years has been involved in online learning as both a student and instructor. He feels that looking at distance education courses from both perspectives has given him invaluable insight into “what works.”
Gary has been a faculty member at the University of Phoenix since 2008, having served as a Full-Time Staff Faculty member since 2013. He has seen the needs of the online student grow during this time, and the diversity expanded to include many folks who are starting back on their educational path at various stages of life, career and academic and personal experiences. It is his aim to guide, instruct and hopefully encourage their further educational plans.
